"...because a thankful heart is a happy heart...."
Because it's Tuesday, and in an effort to remove the focus from myself and have a better attitude, I decided to list (in no particular order) ten things that I am thankful for. It really is hard to mope around when one is counting their blessings.
1. Babies. An old friend of mine had a baby yesterday! Well, technically is wife did. Babies are wonderful and I rejoice with them even though I'm a million states away.
2. Coffee. I love it. I am so thankful that the weather is finally being more conducive to hot beverages.
3. My Job. Although I find it difficult to get motivated some days (after all, it's called work!), I really do enjoy it and I work with some phenomenal people.
4. Comedians. I only follow about six people on Twitter (I don't have the patience or time for it, really); four of them are hysterically funny people who continually put a smile on my face.
5. Unsolicited Affection From My Sons. A simple phone call from my son who doesn't live here anymore, or a hug from the one who does... The have no idea what that does for my heart.
6. Target. Who doesn't love going to Target? I have a love/hate relationship with the newly added grocery section, but wasting some time wandering the rest of the store is so relaxing.
7. Fall. Not only do I love the beginning of fall for fall itself, but I love how it ushers in the best time of the year. October through February....my very favorite!
8. Music. Nothing speaks to my soul or transports me so completely.
9. My New Cinnamon Pine Cones. I don't know why I've never thought of this before! I purchased some the other day and I have them hiding in a flower pot outside my front door. While they are too fragrant to be inside my home, they are perfect for providing us with some seasonal delight each time we come and go!
10. Friends. Specifically, the kind of friends who are filled with grace and love, even when I'm being ugly.
